Baseball's taken a PR beating in the last 2 years with all the steroid talk and the Barry Bonds fiasco. MLB may lose a few fans. In my opinion though major league baseball has other things to worry about. Check out my list of complaints about baseball.
Before that though, visit a great place to buy baseball equipment , BaseballWarehouse.com
Pitcher's are allowed to throw at batters. Hell they're even encouraged to do it by MLB big wigs. MLB corporate suits are complicit when your latest no name batter gets beaned by a 96 mph fastball. It's a fact that pitchers are rarely ever fined for throwing at batters. They may get ejected, but not fined. MLB likes the drama. Unfortunately, that's the only good reason to go see a baseball game anymore. Heck, it's worth the $40 per seat to go watch rich people get into a fist fight. It helps break up the ball 1, ball 2, ball 3, snoring event on the field. Batter's don't throw at pitchers. I might pay $45 per seat if more batters would chunk their bats at pitchers everytime an ego maniac decides to buzz the tower. For all the egos on the field, you'd think these cowards would catch on. Season is way too long. 182 games and 7 months of regular season. Pitchers and catchers report in February. Talk about a regular season that doesn't matter. How can any1 game in April matter come August? No wonder why they can't sell out a game. Steroids. Name the single most contributor to the fact that baseball looks like WWF wrestling anymore? Yep, Steroids. Cheaters. The game is about entertainment than the sport. It's starting to look just like the NBA. Neither sport can win a world championship. Baseball Players. Egos. They train baseball players to play angry. Why? It's not a contact sport. You don't have to be pissed off to swing a bat or throw a ball. Salaries. Millionaires playing a game for a living. They're why you have to pay $40 per seat. The game is so slow. I think things can be decided by the time everyone bats twice. And just 3 pitches. If one is a strike and the batter doesn't hit it, he's out. If the pitcher can't throw a strike in 3 attempts, he goes back to the minor leagues. No change of pitchers ever, and no time outs. The rich teams stay rich. The Yankees buy their trophies. That's why it's so fun when they lose. MLB needs a Robin Hood rule. Wooden bats. Instead of Steroids, just let them use metal bats. Ping! Now that's the sweetest sound in baseball. Barry Bonds. This guy has admitted using something later identified as steroids. ("the cream" and "the clear") Now he's going to be baseball's all time home run king? If MLB allows this, they're complicit again in turning "America's pastime" into an entertainment only business (WWF). Would America even notice or cry out anymore if baseball just died?
